ILLINOIS HEARTLAND LIBRARY SYSTEM

On July 1, 2011, Lincoln Trail Libraries System became part of the new Illinois Heartland Library System. Due to diminished funding, the nine Illinois library systems will be merging into two larger systems.

You should not notice any change in service delivery-it is a change in the name and organizational structure. All of the library systems will remain committed to delivery and resource sharing.

Some of the changes you will notice include:

v    In MyMediaMall, you will need to select Illinois Heartland Library System when downloading ebooks and audiobooks.

v    Library ELF notices will reference Illinois Heartland Library System.

v    Items owned by LTLS in the library catalog will now be shown as belonging to IHLS.

The Illinois Heartland Library System will include more than 450 libraries in 64 counties. These libraries together have more than 2 million items that patrons may borrow through interlibrary loan. You will be able to use your library card at any library in the new system.
